Three Peacocks @ Labrador Park

These folks have been around for a couple of years and have created so much hype since. Upon arriving, at the tail end of the Labrador Villa Road stretch lies this huge space that was packed with diners. They were clearly doing well. Unfortunately neither the experience nor the food were anything I'd come back for.

The entrance was as confusing, compacted, misleading and simply chaotic. There weren't any clear demarcations of where guests with reservations should queue, and people who were waiting to pay vs  people who were waiting for their friends vs people who were waiting for a table were in a jumbled mess. There weren't any instructions of where to stand what to do and in which order. Unfortunately the staff were neither clear or coordinated enough, fumbling with the high traffic.

It was packed all the time with a consistent queue outside, and there was a shuttle bus that was constantly ferrying more guests in. The ventilation inside was horrible! The tables were too small to fit all the food, there wasn't space to put drinks, or a bin for shells/trash. I never felt so uncomfortable eating.

The Food

It was a clever idea to start every table with a set of common items as opposed to waiting to scribble your order and waiting for staff to bring them (this was a post CoVid arrangement). But the fried items which they served were horrible - you cannot serve fried items cold and soggy... It is probably an attempt by the owners to fill your stomachs so you have less of the expensive items.

They served only one plate of Sashimi ("Redeemed"), a few pieces for 4 of us. Wasabi with no Soya Sauce or Sauce plates (not that there was space on the table for them).

They used to have Lobsters but I guess they didn't feel it was worth it anymore. But still for $60 per head... The Crayfish barely had any meat and took too much space of the grill - simply too cumbersome to cook. Scallops and Mussels were ok, especially with butter and cheese.

These were the meats they placed on our table, which were difficult to cook on this grill so the staff provided aluminum foils (less space on the grill again)

So if you still wish to come here after reading this, I suggest you order the ready cooked "Teppanyaki" items. This will save you time and space on the grill. They are well marinated but will arrive lukewarm, but you can reheat them on the grill if required.
