Da Luca Italian Restaurant

A random find for a birthday venue in Novena led us to this humble Italian restaurant tucked in a corner of Goldhill Plaza. It was fairly packed for a Sunday lunch, largely families gathering after church.

The service I have to say was humble and sincere. Quick with recommendations and preferences. We were told the signature Uni and Truffle Angel Hair is a must, and we had a craving for steak so we ordered the T Bone.

A dish adopted from the chef’s previous engagement, Gunther’s were it is iconic for their uni pasta, this is pretty on point where all the rich ingredients come together seamlessly. There is raw Japanese Scallops (hotate), fresh sweet Uni, over a truffle oil infused Angel Hair, topped off with shavings of Black Truffle. Absolutely amazing.

The other pasta that was really tasty was their Crab Raviolli. Each parcel filled with fresh crab meat, swimming in a lobster bisque base and topped off with more Black Truffle shavings.

The 750g T-Bone Fiorentina Steak was done perfectly juicy inside charred slightly on the outside and well seasoned.

The grilled NZ lamp chops were savoury without any gamey taste served over a base of cous cous.

The Linguine had loads of Squid Ink, served with fresh Prawns and Squid.
