Sixties Minced Pork Noodles
Tiong Bahru is probably better known for its other Mee Pok (Man) - Hua Bee. But I've seen long queues for this Mee Pok next to Loo's. We went in the morning, and saw it seemed like only a short queue with less than 10 people before me. Little did I know, that each bowl was slowly prepared and to my shock, the entire wait for 1.5 hours!!! I'll tell you now, it is not even close to the standard of Tai Hwa and the waiting time is similar.
The vinegar is fragrant and not too sour. The overall sauce is balanced but not amazing. The noodles is the factory made type, nothing compares to Tai Hwa's. The ingredients here is for the Medium $5. The wanton is old school and tasty with a hint of salted fish. The soup is almost tasteless.
