Hai Kee Char Kway Teow

In a hawker centre not known for its dinner crowds, this place seemed empty. And if you look at this stall's layout, it is similarly empty! Extreme minimalist - just packaging paper, chopsticks and plastic bags. Everything is neat and clean. I like this stall already. Then there is the queue. It is generally a 20-30mins wait because each plate is stir fried individually.

This has to be my favourite Char Kway Teow to date! It is not too sweet with black sauce, not too oily, not too gooey like Outram's. And the Wok Hei is Unlimited! So fragrant, every bite had equal amount of the wok hei - you can tell from the picture itself.

The ratio of kway teow to noodles is also perfect, ensuring sufficient textures and bite. And generous servings of cockles littered all over the plate.
