Bistro Du Le Pin - Cuppage Plaza

A small 14 seater in the upper corner of Cuppage Plaza, hidden away from the hustle outside to the likes of Five Izakaya and Harry's, lies Chef Shikeguru's little enclave. A two men show behind a bar, jostling between an induction stove and a couple of sinks - it is amazing what comes out of there.

Apart from the small snacks and starters, this dish simply blew me away! A great fan of the Mekajiki (Swordfish), for this firmness and clean taste when raw. Chef added a twist to this but adding a warm Miso sauce over it. Cooking it ever so slightly to render this Sashimi to melt in your mouth.

Raw Mekajiki (Swordfish) in warm Miso Sauce $18

The next dish is richness to the max, and I'd highly recommend a cold beer to go with this. The lobster bisque is made even thicker and reduced, and mixed with half a dozen grilled prawns, whose char complements the slight bitterness of the seafood guts.

Grilled Prawns in Lobster Bisque $25

Mash Potato and Mentaiko Mayo

Appetizers: Cold Mussels, Wasabi Cream Cheese, and Boiled Anchovies

Burrata Cheese and Tomatoes $16

Dewatsuru Hihaku Junmai Daiginjo $90
