Star Yong Kwang BBQ Seafood

Impressed by the fact that this was the most bustling stall in Alexandra Food Centre at night, and that they take up 3 stalls, I thought I had to give this a try. Reading the pin ups on their stall, apparently ran by Young Hawker-Entrepreneurs, all the more I'd lend support.

But their pricing isn't cheap. In fact they price higher than some Newton stalls! $16 min for a Stingray compared to $12 in most other places. $16 for "LaLa" as opposed to $8 elsewhere. But when the food came, it proved worth the mark up.

The Stingray was medium done, and with a generous serving of Sambal. In addition, their Sambal has a sparring dash of "hebi" dried Shrimp which makes it more fragrant than most common Sambal Stingrays around.

The "LaLa" priced much higher, were due to the sheer larger size.
Fat and juicy, more bite to a mussel is always better. Unlike other stalls, their shellfish seems cleaner, with lesser sand, more muddy tastes. The sambal used here is different from the one used for the Stingray, spicier and very tasty.
