Kau Kee Beef Brisket Noodles
If you had google mapped this, it would have been impossible to find. If you know the way, its in the heart of Wellington actually. Simply turn left after “Lin Heung Bakery” and walk up the steep slope.
We went at 4pm to avoid a queue… Alas! It moves pretty fast though. The service here is impeccable! Loud and rude and they argue back. But you must realize that this is just the culture, a nice banter is their way of affection. We were surprised that they had a Korean menu, they must have been a lot of Korean tourists flocking to this place.
I had read the reviews of their curry beef brisket, hence it is a must try. I also wanted to compare their clear soup version with Sister Wah’s from Tin Hau.

So I felt that they lost to Sister Wah in terms of the clear soup version, where they have a richer more bovine flavor in their broth.
The curry version here however, is really good… Close to the nonya version that we have back home, I tried to mimic the Hong Lim Curry Noodles’ version by ordering thin egg noodles with this. The soft and tender Beef Brisket had soaked the curry into the crevices of its layers. The tendons and cartilages were so soft it disintegrated in my mouth.
