Pollen's Set Lunch

Over at the Gardens by the Bay, when you make a reservation at Pollen, you would immediately get two privileges: a complimentary buggy ride from the Carpark to the Restaurant's doorstep; and after you have your meal, you may take the private lift into the Flower Dome. 

Today, we had the Set Lunch at $55++...

Starter 1: Bigeye Tuna, Wasabi and Avocado puree, Dashi broth. 

This was so-so for me. No too much flavours in this one, with the pale Tuna flavour overpowering all. 

Starter 2: Potato soup, Soft poached hen’s egg, Spring onion. 

I thought they had served the soup without the soup! It was intentionally so, as they come over to pour it separately. This was flavourful, a tad salty but fine by my tastebuds. 

Main 1: Smoked Salmon, Octopus, Edamame and greens, Broth

Salmon was smoked, and with the broth may be overwhelming for some. But the Broth with the beans was fine. 

Main 2: Braised Duroc Pork cheek, Croquette, crushed apples

The pork tastes like a French style pulled pork, almost in a red wine reduction. Yet this did not sit well with the sweet-sour cooked apples. Neither did it complement the savoury Croquette. 

Dessert 1 Dulce de Leche: Caramel, Coffee, Banana 

Dessert 2 Lemon: Curd, Matcha, Graham, Kaffir
