Tampopo - Orchard

I had always wanted to try the famous Katsu from Tampopo, and many have spoken about its Ramen too. Liang Court is quite out of my way, so when we had a quick lunch around town, we decided to swing by its Takashimaya branch.

It was a hangover day for me, opportune for a nice hot bowl of soup. So I instinctively ordered the "XO Black Pig Jyan Ramen", thinking more alcohol will help with the cure (Hair of the Dog).

Indeed the Pork Cutlet was very nicely done. Crispy and light was its batter, whilst its meat was firm but not dry, tender. The soup was refreshing, the XO gives a "kick" to the tastebuds.

The "Deluxe Seafood Ramen" looked amazing too! A clear broth for those who are not a fan of the porky taste of a Tonkotsu broth. The crab legs were sweet and fresh.

We ordered a portion of the "Wafu Steak". A small portion it was, probably only 100g. It looked lonely and pathetic. But we we took a bite of it, it was addictive! You just wanted to take another slice. The meat was medium rare, nicely charred on the outside (maybe torched). Inside was juicy succulent and tasty. I recommend you order this when you are here.

In fact, I will say I'd definitely will be back to explore the other items on their menu.
