Siem Reap by Indochine [CLOSED]

A place hidden from the bustle of Holland Village's closed off street, this is one of the pioneer's along this stretch, one of the first few outlets of the Indochine Group.

I've been a patron of this outlet for more than a decade now. More so recently when they introduced a 1-1 all night long on drafts and house wines.

But this post is not about the drinks... but the amazing food that comes with it.

The "Yam Xinh Campasek" is Beef Strips pan-seared accompanied by a sauce concoction that works so well to local taste buds. Garlic, Chilli Padis, Onions, and Fish Sauce. A Must Try.

And then for those nights that you need a sobering up... There is the Pho Bo, Beef Noodle Soup. The stock so heavy and fragrant (tad bit of MSG) and yet sweet from the Beef bones. The highlight is actually the Beef Balls - handmade from quality beef by the Chef himself (Not Frozen). A dash of Chilli Padi for kicks and you are good to go!

The Basil Chicken is clumps of tender and juicy minced chicken, in a sweet salty and lingering spicy sauce. Too salty on its own, but with rice and a Sunny Side Up, a Champion's meal...

The Garlic Hotplate Beef Chunks sissles and smells so good each time they serve it out... Chucks of Tenderloin medallions, served very simply with Garlic and Butter, this too is a tasty bite.

One of the Chef's improvisations for me is this Basil Chicken with Fried Tofu. Yums.

But still my favourite improvisation, in fact this is not on the menu, my personal requests... A simple Omelette with Onions and Chilli Padi. Rumour has it that they might offer it on the menu... ;)

As a side snack to share, their wedges are one of the best I have had... Cripsy even when cold. But the dip is the bomb... Mayo with raw Garlic
