Rong Cheng Bak Kut Teh

This little known to most people coffeeshop, sitting across a cluster of motor workshops, hosts one of the big players in Singapore's treasured Bak Kut Teh. This coffeeshop also hosts the two Contenders to one of the best Roast and Braise ducks you can find in Singapore.

Rong Cheng is of course very well known to the residents in the Sin Ming/Bishan/Thomson areas, as well as the car owners who send their cars to Sin Ming for servicing.

The soup is peppery, but not masking the Bak Kut Teh flavours. Great for those Rainy days, especially now in this season. Drenched those Fritters @ You Tiao into this soup, and you get this Satisfaction...

And in the same stock, imagine a bowl of Perfectly cooked Pig's Liver with a generous serving of fresh Spinach. For those whom are not able to mouth this, try it with the super Fragrant Dark Soya Sauce with some Chilli Padi. It is said that consuming this will help in the regeneration of Blood cells in your own body.

But how could I even dare to resist order a "side"... The Braised Pig Trotters! In a sauce braised with the best quality Soya Sauce to give out that amazing Fragrance! Light yet with a powerful aroma and kick to the palate - usually with the Five Star Aniseed and the Gingers... The meat is so tender and Succulent, too much of it could definitely give you a post-lunch Heartburn. Maybe that is why they always have this complete meal with a pot of Chinese Tea at the side "Teh"= Tea.
