Wong Ah Wah Chicken Wings @ Jalan Alor, KL
Nestled in a very humbled corner at the end of Jalan Alor, away from the bright lights and touters, is Wong Ah Wah. What started from one small stall selling "just" Chicken Wings, to four Shophouses side-by-side with Air-Conditioned seating.
Nonetheless, I detoured, took the LRT, walked the walk, and braved the drizzle... All for this magnificent world-renowned BBQ Chicken Wings. Caramel browned and Glistening - its perfectly charred skin; and bite into its succulent meat and its juices oozes out and drizzles all over your mouth.
Goes perfectly well with an ice-cold Carlsberg! Ahhh...
Some might say its the strong Hua Teow Wine taste that enhances the taste,whilst others may guess Oyster Sauce or Honey - perhaps all of the above... But I believe what made the biggest difference is the huge charcoal pit that seems to be smoking the wings (as seen on top) before they enter the fire to get its skin nicely charred...
