Bee Yee Teochew Famous Fish Ball Noodles
It is certainly always encouraging to see "next-gen" hawkers striving to keep the hawker tradition alive. And the changing profile of these "hawkerpreneurs" are now ranging from bankers, engineers to chefs from Michelin restaurants.
Bertrand Cheo is the 3rd generation successor of the Bee Yee Famous Teochew Fish Ball Noodles stall which owes its history since 1967. And it has been his dream for the past 10 years to bring this loved noodles to the mass market - via a DIY kit.
Whilst still its beta phases, this box contains 2 servings of "Mee Pok" and the family's famous Sambal Chilli. And he leaves it to your imagination what you wish to add to this spicy and savoury noodle base.
It is incredibly easy. I've added Pork Balls and Fish Cakes available in Supermarkets and Redmart with a few stalks of Chye Sim for fiber. You can splash some Pork Lard and its oil or like me I used my homemade Scallion oil for enhanced fragrance.
Currently going for SGD$5 a box, you can visit their Facebook page to order:
