Roost - Chicken Laksa

After seeing this several times on Instagram, I decided to try this since I was in the area. Located in the basement of the newly revamped Centrepoint. This place is very affordable, for this Chicken Laksa is only $7.90 whilst the Signature Ying Yang Chicken Rice of both Steamed and Soya Chicken is $8.90. 

The kitchen looks like a tech garage, probably with gadgets to get their chicken so tender and juicy - I'd hazard a guess its Sous Vide. The laksa is also surprisingly fragrant and tasty as well. Lacking the smokiness of a charcoal flamed laksa, but still managing to achieve a decent level of depth and umami even with cockles. Their chilli paste is very interesting, not the normal sambal that you would get, but it is a fermented bean paste with toasted hebi (shrimp) in this paste. If i am not wrong, I tasted grated coconut in the paste as well. 

The Chicken Rice was alright, but its rice was lacking flavours, like salt and more broth.
