Founder's Bak Kut Teh

There used to be snaking queues outside the premise along Balestier Road. And once you are in, it has wall to wall of photographs taken with the owner and celebrities from all over Asia. Today he just sits back and relax literally, on a couch at the cashier. 

We came here on a rainy day, and felt it perfect to warm our souls with a bit of soup. 

It does have a lot of flavour, unfortunately we believe it to be attributable to MSG. We were crazy thirsty after this. It is also not as peppery as we would have liked it to be. 

The pork ribs didn't seem as fresh or cooked as well. My gauge is when I can separate the meat from the bone easily with my chopsticks. When the meat sticks to the bone, it is usually not a good sign. 

Perhaps what I liked was that they had this bowl of soup and lettuce. The vegetables lightened the depth of the MSG laden soup.
