Sun King Ryoriya (Robertson Walk) - Closed
Sitting at The Chamber sipping on Happy Hours, I was curious to the continuous walk-ins to this restaurant - Tucked in a little corner of Robertson Walk, with a name that sounds like a Japanese restaurant. I asked for the menu, to call for some food.
Turns out this is a restaurant that serves some authentic Taiwanese cuisine.
Chicken Gizzards in Bean Paste with Julienne Spring Onions |
A great starter - the chicken gizzards (crunchy) in bean paste (slightly salty, but goes well with beer) with julienne Spring Onions (so fresh, it almost tastes like bamboo shoots).
Preserved Vegetables with Braised Pork Belly with Rice |
Albeit a small portion (bowl), it seems sufficient for a pre drinks night fix. The preserved vegetables was sufficiently preserved, and the pork belly was done just right with the right proportion of lean meat to fats. The sauce was surprisingly not as salty as I would expect, with a hint of Marmite to give a bit of an "essence" to its taste.
