Kiat Huat Wanton Mee (1977) - Update

In the same Haig market as the famous Hollywood Wanton Mee, I was curious why this stall had a longer queue than Hollywood. So I decided to try.

They seem to be known for they “all egg” handmade noodles. They were more al dente and springy, tossed with a spicier sambal chilli. The Char Siew was sweet and firm. The wantons are filled with chunkier pork and a cleaner taste than others. The soup was bland with more ikan billis flavour, still better than some tasting like hot water...

You should also order the Fried Dumplings. They are taken out of the freezer and deep fried in the fryer. But it tasted pretty good because the fillings were tasty - mushrooms shreds and tender minced pork.
