Guangzhou Mian Shi Wanton Mee @ Tanglin Halt

This place opens till 3am in the morning! The entire food centre is closed except for their stall in the corner, and surprisingly an even longer queue for Economic Bee Hoon and Chicken Wings! I was pleased to see the next generation helping to take over the stall, a good looking chap coordinating the orders. 

From photos you'd pick out straightaway that the Char Siew looks incredibly dry. This has been consistently everyone's complaint too. That aside, the noodles are simply old school, a light sauce and dash of salt and pepper over a springy full bite noodles. The wantons are again how I'd remember them when I was young. It also reminds me of a school canteen's wanton mee. 

Between $3 and $3.50, it's a no-brainer.
