Cheok Kee Duck Porridge @ East Coast Lagoon (Not quite worth the wait...)

Even on a Saturday afternoon downpour, there is a queue outside Cheok Kee at East Coast Lagoon. However, it seems like they are intentionally taking their own sweet time to chop a few pieces of duck. Perhaps to keep up appearances of popularity. There were only 5 customers in front of us and we had to wait close to an hour!

This stall has a history that dates back to the 1950s. I noticed that the usual butcher wasn't at the board, whilst heiress and boss takes orders. When we finally started on our duck, the bones were crushed and everywhere in every bite. Apart from an average braised sauce, I did not think anything amazing of it. In fact, the best dish was the braised tofu.
